Working Toward Grade Level Student used pattern, color and few culturally relevant (Mayan) symbols, or symbols of their own creation on their mask.	At Grade Level Student uses pattern, color Mayan symbols and symbols of their own creation to decorate their mask.	Above Grade Level Student uses color, pattern, Mayan symbols and symbols of their own creation and multiple other decorative processes on their mask.
Defense of Artwork	Below Grade Level Student is unable or unwilling to defend their artwork. Student can't describe the process used to create their clay mask.	Working Toward Grade Level Student is able to defend some decisions about their own artwork and can describe some of the process used to create their clay mask.
