	Poor 2 pts	Fair 3 pts	Good 4 pts	Perfect 5 pts
Cartoon Images 50 %	Poor The images are poor and the caption does not make sense or pertain to the assigned topic of the cartoon.	Fair The images and captions are vague for the reader to understand.	Good Images and captions represent perspective of event proficiently. The perspective is understood.	Perfect Images and captions represent perspective of the event exceptionally well. The perspective is clearly understood.
Neatness / Effort 20 %	Poor The cartoon is distractingly messy or very poorly designed. It is not attractive.	Fair The cartoon is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy.	Good The cartoon is attractive in terms of layout and neatness.	Perfect The cartoon is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness.
Spelling and Grammar 5 %	Poor There are many mistakes and they interfere with understanding the thought process.	Fair There are many mistakes but the reader can still understand the message.	Good There is a pattern of mistakes. The student is proficient but there is room for improvement.	Perfect There is only 1-2 errors. There is not pattern to the mistakes. There is clear evidence of mastery.
Completion 25 %	Poor Cartoon was turned in three days late	Fair Cartoon was turned in two days late	Good Cartoon was turned in three days late	Perfect Cartoon was turned in on assigned date.
