Kindergarten	Poor Misses the object.	Fair Sometimes can strike the object.	Good Most of the time can strike the object.	Excellent Strikes a lightweight object with a paddle/short-handeled racket.
1st Grade	Poor Misses the ball.	Fair Strikes a ball, sometimes sending it upwards.	Good Strikes a ball, most of the can send it upwards.	Excellent Strikes a ball with a short-handled implement, sending it upward.
2nd Grade	Poor Cannot strike object with consecutive hits. Misses when striking a ball off tee or cone.	Fair Sometimes can strike an object upward using consecutive hits. Strikes a ball off tee or cone. Does not use correct grip and/or body orientation	Good Most of the time can strike an object upward using consecutive hits. Strikes a ball off tee or cone.
