5th Grade Task 2 4th Grade Task 2 ELACC.5.W.7 Conduct short research projects that use several sources to build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic. Students were expected to gather information about a historical figure from discussion with their teacher and 2 internet sources: 1 print and 1 video. Students were to take notes and then use those notes to take a multiple choice assessment. Gathering information Students gather information from 3 sources - teacher presentation, print and video	Poor Note cards do not contain any information gathered from either source.	Fair Note cards contain information from 1 or 2 sources.	Good Note cards contain information from all three sources.
Note Cards Students include at least 10 facts.	Poor Note cards are present and include 5 or fewer facts about their historical figure.	Fair Note cards present and include 6 - 9 facts about their historical figure.	Good Note cards present and include 10 or more facts about their historical figure.
Information Gathered Student gathered information on multiple aspects of the topic. (Ex: childhood, accomplishments, and family)	Poor Note cards cover 1 aspect of the main topic.	Fair Note cards cover 2 aspects of the main topic.	Good Note cards cover 3 or more aspects of the main topic.
Recall of facts Students take a multiple choice assessment about their person. Questions come from information found in their two sources.	Poor Scored 60% or below on assessment.	Fair Scored 70% or 80% on assessment.	Good Scored 90% or above on assessment.
