Imagine

Poor

Little or No evidence of imagine was seen as they worked in a group.
Fair

Some evidence of imagine was observed.
Good

Good evidence of the group thinking and brainstorming about what they were going to build.
Excellent

They really got together as a group and imagined/brainstormed what they were going to build.
Plan

Poor

Little or no evidence was planned out. They did not plan what they were going to build nor plan on what materials to use in the building.
Fair

Some evidence of a plan. There was some thought to materials/building, but not really thought out.
Good

Good evidence of planning done. Materials were listed and thought out, but the plan wasn't quite complete.
Excellent

I can really see what you are going to be building. All materials were listed and well thought out. I can't wait to see how you build your airplane.
Design

Poor

Your design lacked materials that were needed. It was really hard for me to tell what you built or were building.
Fair

Some materials were used correctly.
Good

Good use of the materials and plan. The airplane was nice and well put together, but there were parts that weren't well made.
Excellent

Great use of materials! You maximized your use of materials and created a great airplane.
Criteria - Straight Flight

Poor

Airplane did not fly straight or go at least 2 meters.
Fair

Airplane flew somewhat straight but did not go at least 2 meters.
Good

Airplane flew straight, but only went 1 meter or less.
Excellent

Airplane flew straight and went at least 2 meters.
Criteria - Trick

Poor

Airplane did not have a successful trick. There were no directions on how to modify the plane for a trick.
Fair

Airplane had a trick, but was not successful. The directions were incomplete or difficult to follow.
Good

Airplane had a successful trick. The directions were complete, but somewhat difficult to follow.
Excellent

Airplane had a successful and unique trick. The directions on the trick were complete and understandable.
Time Management

Poor

Did not use time well. Time was wasted during the imagine, plan, and design phase of engineering.
Fair

Sometimes used time well. There were times when the group got off task during the imagine, plan, and design phase.
Good

Good use of time, there were a few times when the group got off task, but for the majority of the task time was well spent.
Excellent

Great use of time. The group stayed on task during each phase of the process.
Participation

Poor

All or Some group members had to be reminded several times to stay on task.
Fair

Most group members participated during the building process. The group had to be redirected a few times.
Good

The majority of the group members worked together and didn't have to be redirected that much at all.
Excellent

All group members worked together flawlessly and got the job done. The group never had to be redirected.
