Personal Narrative
	Secure 3 pts	Developing 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts	Score 8 or higher meets the standard (N/A)
Ideas	Secure -Writes a lot about the topic -Develops details	Developing -Idea is generally on topic	Beginning -Lacks clear topic or focus -Shows little understanding of the task	Score
Organization	Secure - Writes several thoughts in sequential order -Easy to follow	Developing -Writes at least one thought	Beginning -No sense of organization -Hard to follow (confusing)	Score
Word Choice	Secure -Uses varied and higher level vocabulary	Developing -Word choice is somewhat varied	Beginning -Few, if any recognizable words are present -Random strings of letters across the page	Score
Concepts of Print	Secure -Writes with spaces between words -Includes initial and some medial and final consonant sounds in words -Writes with upper case letters at the beginning of the sentence	Developing -Spacing between works is inconsistent -Includes beginning and some ending sounds -	Beginning -Letter-sound correspondence is unclear - Writing is difficult to decipher	Score
