Geometry/Math Symbols- Pinata Hispanic Heritage Month- Pinata Pinatas made of any type material. Each student must show that their creation clearly resembles the mathematical symbol that they signed up for. Pinata is intended to serve as an instructional aid and will be larger than 12 inches and have a depth (thickness) of at least 3 inches. The silhouette of the pinata should resemble the math symbol that is to be demonstrated. Pinatas are NOT to be filled with candy! Presentation 60 % Project completed in a timely fashion.	Poor Little or no resemblance to a pinata. unrecognizable not asthetically pleasing to the eye. No individuality/creativitycan be seen.	Fair Some resemblance to a pinata parcial characteristics of something what asthetically pleasing to the eye. Some individuality/creativitycan be seen.	Good Much resemblance to a pinata many characteristics of something mathematical, etc very asthetically pleasing to the eye. Much individuality/creativitycan be seen. A true work of art
Clarity of Math Symbol 30 % Did student follow class instructions.	Poor Hard to determine what symbol the pinata is demonstating	Fair The symbol is displayed on only one side of the pinata.	Good The math symbol represented by the pinata is readly recognized from accross the room. Symbol is apparant from both sides of the pinata
Construction 10 % The pinata is built to last	Poor Pinata is fragile and will not stand up to the rigors of a classroom environment. Pinata falls apart in the attempt to hang it.	Fair Some attention and effort is demonstrated in the construction of this project. All components of pinata remain adhered to math symbol.	Good This pinata is built to last. Will stand up to the rigors of the classroom environment for many school years.
