domains tree map rubric 
The students will work with a partner to create a tree map that accurately shows three major domains, the basic characteristics of organisms in the domain and examples. The tree map should include the following elements: the three (3) major domains, the basic characteristics common to organisms found in that domains, and drawing/sketches of organisms found in domain. The tree map must show two (2) examples from each kingdom found in Domain Eukarya.

Lacks original artwork. Not students own drawing/writing. Not good use of space on poster. Messy. Lacks color.

Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. Not alot of color/shapes/design. Most of the drawings/writing is the student's own.
Good

Contains students own writing and drawing. Lots of colors, shapes, and appealing design. Shows the student spent time creating an artistic piece.
Exceeds

Eye catching. Great use of colors, texture, shapes, and spacing on poster. Artwork is the students own & is neat. Writing is easy to read. Shows the student can express ideas through art.
Format/presentation

Poor

Not on required paper size and poorly presented. Assignment was submitted late.
Fair

The tree map is correct paper size, but poorly presented. Assignment was submitted late.
Good

The tree map is the correct size, clean and neatly displayed. Submitted on time.
Exceeds

The tree map is of exceptional quality and presentation.Submitted on time.
Cooperation/time management

Poor

The students did not work well together. It appeared that only one of the group members did the most work. Seemed unorganized and were consistently off-task.
Fair

The students did not put forth the best collective effort on the assignment. Were somewhat organized but were asked to stay on task a few times.
Good

Both students demonstrated the appropriate amount of collaboration. Were somewhat organized or did not utilize time effectively.
Exceeds

Both students demonstrated a high-degree of collaboration and organization necessary to complete the assignment.
