Student understands and remembers parts of the story, but is only able to answer 1 or 2 questions about the story.

Student understands and remembers the entire story and can accurately answer more than 4 questions correctly.

Student is on the wrong page or is reading ahead or behind the person who is reading aloud.
Adequate
Student is on the correct page and seems to read along with the person who is reading aloud, but gets distracted by looking at the reader or pictures.
Exceptional
Student is on the correct page and is actively reading along with the person who is reading and can easily find place when called upon to read.

Student interrupts often by making comments, noises, or whispering that are distracting for others.

Student occasionally interrupts or causes a distraction.
