K-5 Dribbling a Basketball
	Unsatisfactory 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Excelling 4 pts
Use of fingertips	Unsatisfactory Attempting	Developing Slaps the ball in an erratic fashion.	Proficient Uses a combination of fingertips and the palm of the hand. Usually uses fingertips, but occasionally uses the palm of hand	Excelling Uses the fingertips exclusively.
Knees bent	Unsatisfactory Attempting	Developing Stands upright	Proficient Knees are slightly bent, but occassionally standing up.	Excelling The students knees are bent all of the time while dribbling.
Ball kept below the waist	Unsatisfactory Attempting	Developing Ball is dribbled up high and not in control. Frequently loses the ball.	Proficient Ball is sometimes dribbled below the waist with occasional dribbling above the waist. Student has control of ball most of the time.	Excelling Ball is dribbled below the waist in a controlled fashion.
Keep head up while dribbling	Unsatisfactory Attempting	Developing Student is looking at the ball or the student is not paying attention to dribbling.	Proficient Students head is down looking at the ball most of the time and/or the student's head is up, most of the time.	Excelling Student's head is up all the time and the student has complete control of the ball.
