Grade 6 Poetry Rubric 
Students will create a poetry book that will include 5 original poems: 1 Cinquain, 1 Simile, 1 Metaphor, 1 Haiku and 1 Acrostic with alliteration. At least one poem will be presented orally. Your poetry book must also include an introductory "Dear Reader" letter explaining why the student picked his/her theme and 2 paragraphs reflecting on discussing the project pros and cons. Students will also include some type of art form (original or otherwise) that best represents the poetry book theme.
