Communication	Poor Does not speak Spanish. English spoken when Spanish questions are asked.	Fair Speaks Spanish infrequently. Uses mostly "Spanglish." Speaks very seldom.	Good Speaks Spanish frequently and trys to use "new" language skills to express information. Some English used.	Excellent Speaks Spanish nearly all the time. Very few English words spoken. Speaks frequently.
Involvement	Poor Does not pay attention. Socializes constantly and is unaware of teaching. Does not listen/participate.	Fair Pays little attention. Socializing affects engagement with lesson, but appears to listen infrequently. Participates very little.	Good Pays attention most of the time. Minor socializing. Is engaged in the class and participates often.	Excellent Always pays attention. Never/Hardly ever allows socializing to affect engagement. Participates throughout entire class period.
