Organization	Poor Does not contain an introduction, body, and/or concluding paragraph.	Fair Contains an introduction, body, and concluding paragraph.	Good Contains an accurate and thorough introductory paragraph, body, and concluding paragraph.	Excellent Contains an accurate and thorough introduction, body, and conclusion paragraph with smooth transitions from paragraph to paragraph. With a logical progression of information.
Mechanics	Poor Contains many mechanical and spelling errors.	Fair Contains a few mechanical and spelling errors.	Good Contains minimal mechanical and spelling errors.	Excellent Contains no mechanical or spelling errors.
Feel/Tone	Poor The writing has little personality. The reader quickly loses interest and stops reading. The tone is unprofessional. It is not appropriate for an academic research paper.	Fair The writing is dull and unengaging. Though the paper has some interesting parts, the reader finds it difficult to maintain interest. The tone is not consistently professional or appropriate for an academic research paper.	Good The writing is generally engaging, but has some dry spots. Presentation	Poor Does not present any information about research paper.	Fair Provides basic details about research paper.	Good Thoroughly and accurately presents information researched.	Excellent Provides thorough and accurate information and an additional aspect of the presentation (poster, picture, handout, PowerPoint, etc.).
