Presentation of Content Words

Good

Student is able to present in full sentences and uses some of the content words we used in class throughout the unit. Student names and labels every family member.
Fair

Student presents his/her family book in phrases and only uses some of the content words we used in class. Student only presents the name and label of some of the family members.
Poor

Student makes no effort to present. Student needs help to present and uses little or no content words when presenting.
Presentation - Voice and Eye Contac

Good

Student speaks clearly, slowly and loud enough for the class to understand and hear. Student paces his/her reading on each page. Student reads each page in full sentences. Student makes or at least attempts to make eye contact with class and teacher.
Fair

Student does not either speak slowly, clearly or loud enough to hear. Student is rushing through the book by reading quickly. Student reads only parts of the book. Student only makes eye contact with teacher or a student.
Poor

Student makes no effort to read in a comprehensible manner for the listener to understand. Student does not speak clearly, slowly or loud enough. Student does not follow his/her writing in the book.
Student does not make any eye contact and/or does not make any effort to make eye contact.
Writing - Sentence Structure

Good

Student's work is written in full sentences. Every or majority of the sentences begin with a capital letter and end with the appropriate punctuation.
Fair

Some of the sentences are written with capital letters and not all sentences end with the appropriate or any punctuation. Not all sentences are written in complete sentences.
Poor

Student's work is not written in complete sentences. Student does not use any punctuation and does not use capitalization appropriately.
Writing - Required Pages

Good

Student has included all the members of their immediate family, family symbol, favorite memory, and family necessities.
Fair

Student is missing at most 2 pages from their book.
Poor

Student is missing more than 3 pages from their book.
