Fictional Short Story- COVID-19 
Students will write a short story with fiction literary elements incorporated in it. Students will also incorporate the use of 20 vocabulary words used in the program.

Plot

Excellent

The story is extremely developed and thorough without being verbose. There is a defined introduction, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
Good

The story is very developed and thorough, but may be missing essential plot elements that make it difficult to follow.
Fair

The story is somewhat developed, but the writer tends to ramble in certain parts of the plot. The plot progression hinders the flow of the story.
Poor

The story is undeveloped or difficult to understand. The plot does not develop causing confusion.

Student does not demonstrate the correct usage of vocabulary words using correct punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement.

Point of view somewhat clear, shift between first and third not always easy to identify for reader. Little use of change, but is identifiable.

Point of view is unclear at times, shifts in dialogue (first or third) hard for reader to detect. Reader struggles to identify point of view.
