	Right on Target! 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Ideas	Right on Target! The writing makes sense. There are enough reasons, details or facts with explanations to support the topic.	Good The reasons, details or facts and explanations support the topic except for one part.	Fair Many of the reasons, details or facts do not support the topic. There is little detail as well.	Poor The reasons, details or facts are unclear and do not support the topic. There are no details.
Organization	Right on Target! The topic sentence is clearly written. The ideas or organized and make sense.	Good Most, but not all, of the details are in a logical order that makes sense.	Fair Some of the details are not in a logical order and it is difficult to read.	Poor The writing does not make sense.
Well Chosen Words	Right on Target! The writer uses many"juicy", descriptive words and phrases that show, not tell, about the idea.	Good The writer uses some "juicy", descriptive words.	Fair The writer is clear but the words are ordinary.	Poor The writer is not clear with the words used.
Smooth Sentences	Right on Target! The sentences are smooth and easy to read. The transitions are used appropriately.	Good Almost all of the sentences are easy to read and smooth. The writer uses some transitions.	Fair Many of the sentences are hard to read and understand. Very few transitions are used.	Poor The sentences don't make sense and there are no transitions.
Personal Voice	Right on Target! The writer is excited about their topic.	Good The writer cares somewhat about the topic.	Fair The writer doesn't really care about the topic.	Poor The writer could care less about the topic.
