Accuracy of turtle visual	5 Soap carving represents drawing of turtle used. Animal is not blocky, but rounded off. The parts of the turtle are in proportion to its body.	4 Soap carving represents some of the drawing used. Animal is slightly blocky. Some parts of the turtle are in proportion to its body.	3 Soap carving does not represent drawing. Animal is blocky. Turtle parts are not in proportion to its body.
Details	5 Student carved intricate details into soap such as pattern of the turtle shell, legs, flippers, tail, and head.	4 Student carved basic details into the soap, including a simple pattern for the turtle shell, and a basic head, and simple parts.	3 Student carved very little detail into the soap. There is no pattern for the turtle shell, and parts are basic and simple.
Craftsmanship	5 Student displayed excellent soap carving skills and was able to subtract small amounts of the soap. Scrapings are small and careful.
