Student clearly understands the historical event and the critique in the cartoon is evident. They make a strong statement using appropriate graphics and text.

Content is completely unrelated to the chosen topic, or there is not cartoon.
Unsatisfactory

Student made up the cartoon without any factual basis and/or no political cartoon element is present. Did not seem to consciously use any of the elements for political cartoons discussed in class.
Satisfactory

Student used opinions or feelings about the issue rather than actual information for the basis of their cartoon and hinted toward a political cartoon element. Used at least one of the elements discussed in class.
