Paragraphs are somewhat easy to follow (ideas may be mixed up); give topic sentences and general supporting details; offer adequate commentary
Beginning

Mechanics & Grammar

Developing
Essay has some mistakes and/or spelling errors; needs some revisions; missing either transitions or conclusions
Beginning
Essay has many mistakes and/or spelling errors; makes an attempt at transitions and conclusions
Incomplete
Essay needs to be edited and revised extensively; does not contain necessary transitions and conclusions
MLA Format
Accomplished
All directions for MLA format are followed.
Developing
The heading and title block are complete. Paper is double-spaced.
