8 Measure Melody Composition 
In groups of 4-6, students will use common rhythms, simple time signatures, and simple melodic gestures to compose an 8 measure composition. Students will have numerous class periods to complete the assignment. Students will also turn in a self reflection describing the cognitive process they used in developing their composition.
