Facts and explanation.	Level 1 Student displays limited facts or mostly incorrect facts.	Level 2 Student lists facts that are mostly correct but does not explain the facts.	Level 3 Student displays a variety of mostly correct facts and sometimes adds detail in explaining the facts.	Level 4 Students displays a variety of correct facts and extends the facts by giving a supporting explanation.
Research and Understanding	Level 1 Student did inadequate research. Student does not understand their own project.	Level 2 Student did some research. Student shows limited understanding of their project.	Level 3 Student did a lot of research. Student shows a good understanding of their project.	Level 4 Student did significant research to develop their idea and demonstrates good understanding of their project.
Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation	Level 1 Project has poor spelling with excessive errors.	Level 2 Project has some correct spelling.	Level 3 Project uses mostly correct spelling.	Level 4 Student has no errors in spelling.
Project setup	Level 1 Did not follow directions for set up. Project layout is disorganized and messy.	Level 2 Followed some directions given for set up. Project needs some organizational improvement and could be tidied up.	Level 3 Followed most directions for set up. Project is well organized and tidy.	Level 4 Followed all directions for set up. Project is very well organized and tidy.
