Knowledge of Subject	Approaching Standard Student did not understand the subject of the lesson and was able to explain only a small part of the lesson.	Meeting Standard Student had some understanding of the major features of the subject and was able to explain most of the ideas.	Exceeding Standard Student understood the subject completely and clearly explained its meaning in their lesson.
Presentation skills	Approaching Standard Student did not have eye contact and did not speak loudly and clearly when teaching lesson.	Meeting Standard Student made eye contact, but did not speak loudly and clearly when presenting.	Exceeding Standard Student made eye contact, stood and fully engaged the class into the lesson.
Activitities for students	Approaching Standard Student did not plan adequate activites for class.	Meeting Standard Student planned adequate activities for class with foundational thinking skills such as remembering, understanding, and applying the information.	Exceeding Standard Student planned adequate and higher order thinking skills for class such as analyzing, evaluating, or designing
Discussion questions	Approaching Standard Student did not ask adequate questions necessary to facilitiate a discussion on the subject matter.	Meeting Standard Student planned adequate questions for discussion but these questions failed to get responses from the class	Exceeding Standard Student planned adequate questions for discussion and created and led a class discussion around the topic that included HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills).
