Grammar 20 pts All sentences are complete sentences with capital letters, proper punctuation, and correct spelling.	Poor Writing has more than 7 errors	Fair Writing has less than 7 but more than 2 errors.	Good Writing has 1 or 0 errors.
Ideas 20 pts Ideas are supported by at least four opinions or quotes from research.	Poor No supporting quotes or opinions were stated in the paper.	Fair 1 -3 supporting opinions or quotes were listed in the paper.	Good 4 supporting facts and/or quotes were included in the writing.
Appropriateness 20 pts Topic does not wander and is school appropriate.	Poor Topic wanders and is not school appropriate.	Fair Topic wanders but is school appropriate.	Good Topic is focus of paper and is school appropriate.
Research 20 pts Research was done and is apparent.	Poor No research is apparent.	Fair At least one quote from outside research is included in the paper.	Good Research on the topic is apparent and utilized in the paper.
