Neatness/Clearness
EXCELLENT
ALL LINES were constructed with a STRAIGHT EDGE. Student constructed more than the lines specified in the directions. Each shaded area is neat and completely covers the described area without going outside the boundaries.
GOOD
Most lines are constructed with a STRAIGHT EDGE. Student constructed each type of line specified in the directions. MOST of the shaded areas are neat and completely covered without going outside the boundaries.
BARE MINIMUM
At least half the lines are constructed freehand. Student failed to construct each line specified in the directions. The shaded areas may not cover the entire area and/or go outside the boundaries.

Accuracy of Technique
EXCELLENT
The student CORRECTLY identifies the slope-intercept equation of each line drawn. All shaded areas are CORRECTLY identified as a System of Inequalities formed by the boundary lines of each color and correctly listed in a COLOR KEY.
GOOD
The student correctly identifies the slope-intercept equation of MOST lines drawn. MOST shaded areas are correctly identified as a System of Inequalities formed by the boundary lines of each color and are included included in the COLOR KEY.
BARE MINIMUM
The student correctly identifies at least half the lines drawn using slope-intercept equations. At least half the shaded areas ore correctly identified as a System of Inequalities formed by the boundary lines and at least half the areas are included in the COLOR KEY.

Difficulty/Creativity
EXCELLENT
Student uses the lines and shaded areas to develop a creative or specific design OR enhance the shaded areas in a creative style. The final project is on a professional level. The difficulty is well above examples shown in class.
GOOD
Student uses lines and shaded areas in an innovative way. The piece includes basic design work. Some shaded areas are enhanced in a creative style..
BARE MINIMUM
The completed project shows basic shading and design with a possible attempt to be creative but not shown throughout the project.

Color/Shading
EXCELLENT
BOTH the entire plate design and the COLOR KEY is accurate and appropriately labeled. All coloring is between the lines and the color/shading enhances the piece.
GOOD
Most of the plate design and COLOR KEY is accuraate and appropriately labeled. Most of the shaded area is completely within the boundary lines with NO STREAKS.
BARE MINIMUM
More than half of the plate design does not correlate with the COLOR KEY. Several shaded areas contain streaks that detract from the plate design.
