Selling the Elements Commercial for a Member of the Periodic Table of Elements You and one partner are world famous advertising agents who have been hired to write and star in a 3 to 5 minute commercial selling a specific element from the Periodic Table. Each pair must work on a different element, and will present to the rest of the class in one week. Element Sales Pitch
	Basic 5 pts	Developing 15 pts	Excellent 20 pts
Content - 20 pts.	Basic Includes element's name, symbol, atomic number and mass, when it was discovered and/or created, common historical and/or modern uses, and 4 other physical or chemical properties of the element.	Developing Includes element's name, symbol, atomic number and mass, when it was discovered and/or created, common historical and/or modern uses, and 7 other physical or chemical properties of the element.	Excellent Includes element's name, symbol, atomic number and mass, when it was discovered and/or created, common historical and/or modern uses, and 10 other physical or chemical properties of the element.
Creativity - 20 pts.	Basic Exhibits some effort. Little originality or variation.	Developing Some originality evident. Good variety and blending of materials. Use of color.	Excellent Very original. Demonstrates great effort. Captures audience attention using color and other creative objects/visuals.
Speaking Skills - 20 pts.	Basic Little eye contact, mumbling, uneven rate. Little or no expression.	Developing Clear articulation, good eye contact, enthusiastic	Excellent Poised, articulate, enthusiastic, confident. Could be an advertising professional.
Length of Presentation - 20 pt.	Basic Within 2 minutes of alloted time +/-	Developing Within 1 minute of alloted time +/-	Excellent Preparation was obvious. Presentation was within alloted time of 3-5 minutes
Member Participation - 20 pts.	Basic Only one member presented with limited participation for the second.	Developing Both members presented, but one member clearly presented more than another.	Excellent Both members presented as equal members of the group.
