Writer demonstrates good knowledge of a description of setting, and includes time and place in the description. There is some detail included, but there are still some areas in which the reader is confused about setting.

Writer includes time and place in description of setting, and is incredibly detailed in his or her description. The reader has no doubt as to where and when the story takes place, and understands all details of the setting.
