Be Your Own Personal Trainer 
At the end of the semester, after all the elements of physical fitness have been covered, students will be required to write their own 6 week workout plan. They will be required to include each element discussed in class including, muscular strength, muscular endurance, Cardiorespiratory endurance and flexibility. They are allowed to use any for of exercise they wish to incorporate these elements. At the end of each week, the students must write a short summary about which elements matched the exercises. The students will be given an example of an exceptional workout plan.

Project is not typed. You can't tell where one day ends and another begins. Weeks are not separated. Workouts run together.

Workout includes 3 or more exercises for each element: Muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, and flexibility.

Workout includes one exercise for each element.

Paragraph summaries

Exceptional

All paragraph summaries are included. They include thorough descriptions of each exercise and how it incorporates different elements of fitness.
Good

All paragraph summaries are included. They are somewhat thorough and incorporate most exercises to elements.
Fair

All paragraph summaries are present. They are not thorough and do not incorporate exercises to elements.
Poor

There are paragraph summaries missing.
Organization

Exceptional

Workouts are organized in a manner that utilizes different programs (i.e. pyramid training, split week, etc). More than three programs are used.
Good

Few random exercises are used. Most exercises are written in programs. 1-2 programs are used.
Fair

Many random exercises are written with only 1 program used.
Poor

Random exercises are written in each day with no form of organization or useage of programs.
Progression

Exceptional

The workouts use a natural progression. The first weeks start as a beginner and end being more avanced, lifting heavier weights and doing 5 or more complex exercises.
Good

The workout uses a small progression. It starts off for a beginner and advances through the six weeks but only uses 3-4 different exercises.
Fair

The workout progresses a small amount but not enough to be significant and only 1-2 different exercises are used.
Poor

The workout plan uses no progression for progress and uses the same exercises throughout the workout.
