Writing with Figurative Language 
The students will use repetition, rhyme, metaphors, similes, and imagery to create a song lyric to be submitted to the Country Music Hall of Fame words for lyrics educational program. The students theme is evident throughout his writing.

The student uses imagery, repetition, and other figurative languages to give a voice and a clear understanding of what the writer is trying to convey. The repetition conveys the theme. The imagery allows for a descriptive picture to be painted with the use of words.

The student uses repetition to convey his theme through the use of some figurative language. The imagery is non-descriptive and not worded in a way to draw the reader into the story.
Needs Improvement

There is the use of figurative language but their is not the use of repetition in the writing. The theme of the writing is unclear because the repetition in the song lyrics is not stated.

The student types his final draft using Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and has a heading and a title of his song lyrics.

The student types his final draft but does not give a title to his writing and/or use the proper font or size.
