Ball in front Student gets in line with the ball, approaches the ball	Beginner Does not move to the ball. Is stationery on the court OR Movement to the ball is delayed resulting in run-throughs or unnecessary diving most of the time.	Improved Moves to the ball fluidly, staying low. Is often able to get into a stable platform position at contact at least once.	Advanced Moves to the ball fluidly, staying low. Is often able to get into a stable platform position at contact at least twice.	Mastered Moves to the ball fluidly, staying low. Is often able to get into a stable platform position at contact at least thrice.
Platform Student squares the shoulder, forms a "V" with the forearm, cups the hand with the thumbs parallel together, and keeps the elbows extended.
