Minimally Proficient Student participates in reading assignments to answer guided reading questions. Student completes work with 25% independence.	Proficient Student participates in reading assignments to answer guided reading questions. Student completes work with 50% independence.	HP Student participates in reading assignments to answer guided reading questions. Student completes work with 75 - 100% independence.
Writing Writing assignments	Not Proficient Student does not participate in writing assignments or participates with little effort and completion.	Minimally Proficient Student participates in writing assignments with 0 - 25% use of complete sentences. Student answers questions with some detail, explanation, and evidence.	Proficient Student participates in writing assignments, using complete sentences 50% of the time. Student answering questions with adequate detail, explanation, and evidence.
