Creativity/Voice	Poor Letter shows little creativity or personal voice. Obvious that the assignment wasn't taken seriously.	Fair Letter is at times creative. There are parts that show personal voice and thought, and other parts that do not. Project was not given adequent thought and time.	Good Letter shows a great deal of creativity and personal voice. Obvious that student put thought into project and it was taken seriously.
Grammar/Spelling/Fluency	Poor Letter has a great number of grammatical and spelling errors. Sentences do not flow together well.	Fair Some grammatical and spelling errors. Parts of letter do not have good sentence fluency.	Good No or very few grammatical errors. Sentence fluency allows reading the letter with ease. It is clear what the writer is trying to convey.
Organization	Poor The letter has no organize. The thoughts and topics discussed are not organized. It is hard to determine the 4 main points.	Fair The letter has a bit of organization, but is choppy. It is hard to determine the four main points.	Good The letter is organized. It has paragraph breaks that seperate ideas. The four main points are clearly distinguished.
Effort	Poor The letter shows little to no effort. The letter seems thrown together at the last minute. The letter does not meet the requirements of the project.	Fair The letter shows some effort at times. The letter meets some of the requirements.	Good The letter shows a great deal of effort and time. All requirements are met or exceeded.
