This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, attendance, and social interaction while preparing for and performing the mock trial.

Student is constantly engaged in the class activity(100%).
Student does not need reminders to stay on task.
Above Average
Student is often engaged in the activities (90%). Student could participate more in class activity, but is never causing a distraction.
Average
Student is often engaged in the activity (80%). Student needs a reminder to get back on task and can be distracting to teacher and classmates.
Poor
Student is not involved with the class activity (70% and less). Student needs constant reminders to get back on task. Student is distracting to the class as a whole.

Student has done most of the requirements for the trial and is ready.

Student was mostly attentive during the trial and participated. Student did not need to be redirected.

Student was some what attentive during the trial and participated. Had to be redirected non-verbally.

Student was not attentive during the trial and did not participate. Had to be redirected multiple times.

Student is positive about the activities being done in class.

Student is neutral about the activities. Student spreads mixed feelings around the class, both positive and negative.

Student has a negative attitude. Student makes the experience bad for others around him/her.

Excellent
Student provided written feedback in the form of a paper of 1/2 to 1 page in length. Student provided Mock Trial Evaluation form and other proof of participation. Shows student participated to there fullest ability.
Above Average
Student provided written feedback in the form of a paper 1/2 to 1 page in length. Student is missing either proof of participation or Mock Trial Evaluation sheet.
Average
Student provided written feedback, but was not adequate in length. Student did not provide any proof of participation.
Poor
Student did not provide any written feedback.
