Student meets the minimum required standards.

Bible Information

Basic information includes: Chapter and verse designations, Key terms and names, References to the text

Excellent

Student demonstrates exceptional understanding of the background to particular passages and presents additional complex information (beyond what was given in class or the readings) in their interpretation.
Good

Student demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the background of particular passages and presents some additional basic information (as given in class or the readings).
Fair

Student demonstrates a basic understanding of particular passages and presents the minimum amount of information (as given in class or the readings).
Poor

Student fails to demonstrate an understanding of the basic knowledge of particular passages (as given in class or in the readings).
Research and Relevance

Research and relevence includes: explanation of research and clear works cited slide. The presentation also provides references to tools of Biblical scholarship

Excellent

Students demonstrate excellent references to outside research and then demonstrates how these nuances in the text relate to modern application and meaning.
Good

Students reads and references some outside research and makes some interesting attempts at modern application and meaning.
Fair

Students make a few references to outside research and there are some references, but not all are clear and/or engaging to the question of modern meaning.
Poor

Students have little to no references to outside research and applications are not clear or engaging in relation to modern meaning.
Class Activity and Participation

Class activity is based on an activity related to his/her passage and the activity was engaging for his/her peers.

Excellent

Activity is grounded in the Biblical text and engages the entire class, and makes a lasting impact on his/her peers.
Good

Activity is based on the on the Biblical text and engages the majority of his/her peers.
Fair

Activity is loosely related to the Biblical text and allows for some participation by his/her peers.
Poor

Activity is unrelated to the Biblical text and does not engage his/her peers.
Creativity and Engagement

Creativity includes the student's unique design of the presentation and the inclusion of film, art, music, etc, in exploring interpreation and meaning.

Excellent

Student utilizes creative skills and appilcations to make his/her presentation and class activity extremely unique.
Good

Student utilizes creative skills and applications to make his/her presentation and class activity somewhat unique.
Fair

Some creativity is apparent and there is a short application in the student's presentation and class activity.
Poor

Student fails to utilize creative skills and there is no application during her/his presentation or class activity.
