Pitch	Does not meet standards Written notes do not correspond to notes played.	Partially meets standards Student writes notes instead of instrument pitches or has solfege pitches written that do not correspond to the notes played.	Meets standards Only one or two solfege pitches do not correspond to the notes played on the instrument.	Exceeds standards All solfege pitches written correctly correspond to the notes performed.
Melodic contour	Does not meet standards The melody does not have a clear contour. It is filled with skips, has no repeated pitches, or does not use multiple pitches in the pentatonic scale.
