The melody only has a clear contour for 2 or 3 beats of the melody. There are multiple unresolved skips and very few repeated pitches. The full pentatonic scale is not used.
Meets standards
The melody has a melodic contour, with only one spot that isn't clear. Movement is stepwise, with only one unresolved skip, and several repeated pitches. The full pentatonic scale is used.
Exceeds standards
There is a clear melodic contour. The melody contains some repeated pitches, with no skips, or skips that immediately resolve. The full pentatonic scale is used.
