Knowledge of basic steps Flap, Shuffle, Step, Hop, Stomp, toe drop, heel drop, Irish, Back essence,	Poor Knows very few of the steps/ movements but give good effort	Fair Demonstrates some knowledge of steps, but unsure of some others	Good Demonstrates good knowledge of steps - Keeps up with group. Few errors.	Excellent Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the basic steps and performs well.
Technical skills	Poor Little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of the steps.	Fair Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated	Good Steps performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained proficiency in dance style yet. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of the tap dance style.

Fair The dancer was able to demonstrate some of the musicality that matched the music given, but not completely accurate at times.	Good The dancer was able to demonstrate musicality that matched the music with less than 5 mistakes.	Excellent The dancer was able to demonstrate musicality that matched the music given, with less than 2 mistakes.
