Grid Transfer Portrait Drawing Students were to use a grid transfer technique to observe a portrait image and draw an enlarge portrait drawing of that image with shading and value.

Effort/Perserverance	D and Below Artwork unfinished or completed only: after many prompts/ideas/help/solutions from teacher and others.	C/ Fair Artwork finished with Minimum effort/ met minimum requirements with no extra effort.	B/Very Good Grid Portrait completed with hard work but some details lacking Or some areas of value/shading are under developed	A/Excellent Student studied photograph very carefully. Student challenged him or herself to go beyond ordinary levels of ability or understanding.
Craftsmanship/Skill	D and Below Incomplete work.	C/ Fair Grid Portrait shows the information of the drawing in a basic way - viewer can tell what it is - but could use more observation between squares of photo and squares of drawing to achieve a more develop and accurate value drawing.	B/Very Good Grid Portrait completed with hard work but some details are laking Or some areas of shading are not in the same value range of the photo that was studied.	A/Excellent Grid Portrait shows clear and accurate representation of the photograph - portrait shows realism and understanding of the shapes and shading in photograph. Portrait may show additional methods added to process to improve and develop picture. Artwork is develop with outstanding care - results showing outstanding potential, growth, and focus of artist.
