Typing Self-Assessment 
This rubric is to help students assess how they are typing and how assessing these points will improve their overall typing skill as well as giving them an awareness of those skills they need to improve.

My back is straight.
My body is within handspan of the keyboard.

Hand/Finger Position:

My fingers are always touching home row when they are not actively typing.
My fingers return to the home row when they are done typing other keys.
I only use the tips of my fingers.

Palm/ wrist Position

I keep my palms off the desk and off the keyboard.
My wrists are a straight line with my hand.

How did I do?
Correct finger usage

I press keys with the correct right/left hand.
I press the spacebar with my
thumb.
I hold the shift key down with my "pinkie" fingers .
I know the difference between the caps lock key and shift key.

Doing right vs. doing quickly

I can maintain consistent technique physically.
I work on ACCURACY and technique more than on speed.
