Interactive World Cultures Notebook GRADE 8 INTERACTIVE HISTORY NOTEBOOK RUBRIC This rubric will assess your Word Cultures Interactive Notebook. Your notebook will be collected periodically during the school year and graded according to the following 3 criteria using 4 levels. 	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Completeness	Excellent The overall Notbook is excellent. The student appears to grasp the concepts being assessed. Notebook addresses all aspects of the tasks.	Good The overall Notebook is good. The student appears to grasp the concepts being assessed.	Fair The student has made an attempt to do the assignments, but the notebook is not complete and/or lack depth.	Poor Although there is evidence of work being done, The notebook does not display all required items.
Neatness/Ogranization	Excellent The Notebook is neat and clearly labeled all assignments are in place. It will be a nice display for others to refer to.	Good The notebook is neat enough for the student to identify each assignment and notes included. The Notebook is organized and neat.	Fair The Notebook is nice, but could be neater. Labels are minimal. The student could identify items for review, however it is not as neatly put together as it could have been.	Poor The Notebook is sloppy. There is little/no labeling of assignments. The student will have great difficulty identifying items when studying.
Effort	Excellent Notebok was completed. The assignments were complete and showed considerable effort - occasionally exceeding expectations.	Good Notebook was nicely completed on time. The notebook shows clear effort.	Fair Notebook was very vague with little effort put into having accurate information.	Poor Notebook was incomplete with minimal work shown on assignments.
Grammar & Mechanics	Excellent Contains few, if any spelling or grammatical errors.	Good Contains several errors in punctuation, spelling, or grammar that do not interfere with meaning.	Fair Contains many errors in punctuation, spelling and/or grammar that interferes with meaning.	Poor Contains many errors in punctuation, spelling, and/or grammar that make the piece illegible.
