Transformations
Transformations
Student is to draw one of their initals in one quadrant of the coordinate plane and then use at least two of the three different transformations to move the figure to the other quadrants. The student is to explain what transformation was done, and how they did it. The next step is to draw the inital in the empty quadrant and then show the lines of symmetry or rotational symmetry. The student is to explain how many lines of symmetry there are. They are to label all the coordinates on the diagram on all four initials. Then they are to creatively decorate the inital using colored pencils, markers or any other artistic medium. They may use notebook paper if necessary for the descriptions.

Transformations
Non Proficient
not done as instructed, the initals are not transformed as required
Partial Proficient
figures are done but done, but both are done incorrectly
Proficient
figures are done as instructed but there are some mistakes made when they are transformed or when the symmetry is shown
Advanced Proficient
figures are done as instructed , symmerty is shown and is done correctly.
explanation
Non Proficient
no explanation was attached
Partial Proficient
explanation of how the transformations and symmetry were done is included but is not correct
Proficient
explanation of how the transformations and symmetry were done is included but has some mistakes
Advanced Proficient
explanation of how the transformations and symmetry were done is included and is correct.
neatness
Non Proficient
sloppy, lines are not straight, eraser marks are visible
Partial Proficient
lines are not drawn straight , work is not in each quadrant
Proficient
Work is neater, most lines are straight.
Advanced Proficient
Work is neat. All lines are straight. Figures are drawn neatly
creativity
Non Proficient
No creativity, no color is used
Partial Proficient
little thought to creative ideas, colored with just one color
Proficient
good ideas. colored with more than one color, gave some thought to it
Advanced Proficient
excellent work- original ideas good use of colors
