Raw Data
Insufficient
The raw data is missing
Limited
The tables have no clear organization, units may be missing and the number of trials is not sufficient to make an accurate conclusion.
Proficient
Some of the tables need unit corrections or are not clearly labeled.
Advanced
Tables are filled out correctly but units are missing or tables are labled incorrectly
Complete
All of the measurements are organized into a neat table with values and units clearly labeled. There are multiple trials taken as data (follow lab instructions)
Analysis - Calculations
Insufficient
KUES format is not followed. Knowns, Unknowns, Equations, and Sovle sections are not clearly marked or defined
Limited
Only 1 of the KUES components is documented
Proficient
Only 2 of the KUES Componants are documented, a picture or vectors document the model
Advanced
3 of the KUES complnents are documented and a picture or vectors document the model
Complete
In addition to the KUES format being followed a picute is drawn and vectors are documented for the model
Analysis - Graphs
Insufficient
Graph is missing data. Units are not spread out on the x and y axis and the graph is only on a small part of the garph paper. Improper graph type selected for data. No labels nor dependent vs. independent title are given. Units are not given and the x and y increments have more than 2 decimals of accuracy.
Limited
Graph is spread out but impropperly labeled. Units may not be correct.
Proficient
Graph is spread and the axis are labeled properly but the spacing of the x and y increments does not make the graph easy to use.
Advanced
Graph is spread out and the labels or title are accurately labeled. The unit may not be defined or scaled properly. The axis incremetns may not be effectively spaced. Only one issue may exist to get this score.
Complete
Graph is labeled properly and is easy to follow. Units are correctly identified and within the label on each axis. The title is properly defined as dependent vs independenr. (If required) The best fit line is present and has the appropriate y-intercept defined.
Conclusion
Insufficient
The conclusion does not match up with the introduction and the majority of the variables are not explained. There is no attempt to make sense of the errors and any poor results are ascribed to human error.
Limited
Either the goals stated in the introduction are not completely addressed, or there is some confusion with how 1-2 of the variables affect the experiment. Good faith efforts are made to explain divergent results.
Proficient
The conclusion addresses the goals mentioned in the introduction, with all of the relationships between the variables explained. Any divergent results are given a reasonable explanation.
Advanced
In addition to being proficient, the conclusion incorporates the significance of the slope and intercept (when relevant) and proposes further avenues of study
Complete
Besides being advanced the conclusion is written to 11th grade english standards. Well formed paragraphs are written and flow prpoerly conveying the intent of the writer. All questions are covered and a discussion on experiment error is included. Improvements to the experiment are also explored and defense of your hypothesis position must be clearly stated.
