Performs much of the music with limited contrast of dynamics and tempo variance. Shows periodic lapses of correct attacks and releases relative to style.

Expressive qualities of the music are observed most of the time. Dynamics and phrases are recognized and note beginnings and endings are handled with the correct style and finness.
Preparation-Prepared

Performance does not evidence much outside of class preparation
Excellent

Performance shows some progress in music performance but does not quickly demonstrate a complete familiarity of the music. Occasionally is not prepared for rehearsal.
Superior

Performance shows evidence of practice at home and preparation for the next rehearsal. Music is quickly learned. Always prepared for rehearsal.
