Beginner Band Performance
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Posture	Poor Students slouches in seat, holds instrument at improper angle, does not seem to have any grasp of proper posture for thier instrument.	Fair Student has some grasp of proper posture, sits fairly straight.	Good Students sits with proper posture. Sits up straight and holds instrument at correct angle.	Excellent Students sits with picture perfect posture, hand and instrument position.
Rhythmic Accuracy	Poor Student has no concept of pulse, speeds up or slows down, does not play correct note lengths.	Fair Students plays with some rhythmic accuracy, but has some problems as well.	Good Student plays with good rhythmic accuracy, plays with a steady puls, does not rush or drag the beat.	Excellent Students plays rhythmically perfect.
Notes	Poor Student plays almost all wrong notes, has the wrong fingers pressed, makes no effort to correct themselves, doesn not seems to have a concept of reading the notes, is completely out of tune.	Fair Student plays a fair number of correct pitches, somewhat in tune.	Good Students plays almost all corect notes with good intonation.	Excellent Students plays every note perfect and in tune.
Tone Quality	Poor Student plays with completely uncharachteristic tone with no effort to try and correct the tone. No effort is made to play with correct embouchure.	Fair Student plays with a fairly good tone, but still a bit rough around the edges.	Good Students plays with good beginner tone quality.	Excellent Student plays with excellent tone quality, very characteristic.
