Site Plan

Overall Neatness
Good
Lines are dark and neat with no smudges on the paper. Landscape symbols are appropriate for the selected plant material and color rendering is neatly done with proper shadowing.
Fair
Lines are a bit light with some minor smudges. Most landscape symbols are appropriate and color rendering and shadowing is fair.
Poor
Plan is poorly drawn with light lines and many smudges. Landscape symbols are inappropriate and poorly colored with little or no shadowing.
Design Principles
Good
Plan clearly addresses the following design principles as discussed in class: simplicity, balance, scale, focalization and rhythm and line.
Fair
Plan addresses most of the design principles or each principle is expressed with a fair understanding.
Poor
Most design principles are not addressed or with little understanding.
Plan Information
Good
Plan supplies the following information:
1. Title Block with residence name and address, scale, designer's name, date and north arrow.
2. Plant List with both scientific and common names and size and quantity of each selected plant.
3. Plants are clearly labled so they can be keyed on the plant list.
Fair
Tile block supplies most of the noted information. Plant list is mostly complete and most plants are labeled.
Poor
Title block is missing most information and the plant list is very incomplete with most plants not labeled.
Class Presentation
Good
The designer is professionally dressed for the presentation. He/She clearly discusses the overall layout and theme of the plan with confidence. Pictures of plant and hardscape materials are displayed.
Fair
The designer's attire is somewhat professional. He/She discusses their design with uncertainty of the layout and theme. Some pictures of chosen plant and hardscape materials are offered.
Poor

Simplicity
Good
The design follows acceptable grouping of plants, with good repetition and good diversity of plants.
Fair

Balance
Good

Fair
There was an attempt fo balance the landscape, but some elements disrupt the balance.
Poor
There was no attempt to balance the landscape, with random placement of plants throughout the design
