How it relates	Good Writing proves that the author was effected by the event. The writing was specific in details as to how and why they chose to write about this event. Elements of Summary	Good Overall purpose of the summary is clear; all major points are stated. Word choice is consistently efficient and concise.	Fair The purpose wavers and does not accurately express the main idea or the most major parts of the selection.	Poor Purpose is unclear and the summary does not restate the main idea of the article. It also does not contain points of all the selection.
Article	Good Article is appropriate, fits all guidelines that were set forth and has a clear connection to the author.	Fair Article is appropriate, but does not have a clear connection between it and the author.	Poor Article that was selected does not fall within the guidelines and does not have a connection to the author.
Spelling/Grammar	Good There are no or few errors in mechanics, usage, grammar or spelling.	Fair Some errors are present but does not take away from the work.	Poor There are serious mistakes in the paper that makes it difficult to read and understand.
