Idea Development	Unsatisfactory	Partially Proficient	Proficient	Advanced Writer provides AND explains evidence to support the main idea.
Organization & Structure	Unsatisfactory	Partially Proficient	Proficient	Advanced Writing has an obvious beginning, middle, and end that fit together so the writing is both logical and fluid.
Academic Voice	Unsatisfactory	Partially Proficient	Proficient	Advanced Writer uses words appropriate to the subject. Writing includes complete thoughts and sentences.
Mechanics and Conventions	Unsatisfactory	Partially Proficient	Proficient	Advanced Writing follows the accepted rules of grammar, punctuation, capitalization and spelling.
