Spelling / Grammar (h.12.1)	Poor Your poems have many spelling and grammar mistakes. You have made no effort to correct obvious mistakes.	Fair Your poems have several errors in grammar and spelling which make them difficult to understand.	Good Your poems have a few errors in spelling and/or grammar. Poems are easily understood.	Excellent Your spelling and grammar are virtually error free.
Poem Style Line 1 - A Line 2 - A Line 3 - B Line 4 - B Line 5 - A	Poor Your poem does not use the correct rhyme scheme and also does not demonstrate the correct rhythm.	Fair Your poem uses the correct rhyme scheme OR demonstrates the correct rhythm.	Good Your poem uses the correct rhyme scheme AND demonstrates the correct rhythm. Your poem is easily understood and enjoyed.	Excellent Your poem flows smoothly and demonstrates creativity. It is easily enjoyed and understood.
Personality (f.12.9)	Poor Your personality is not communicated in your poems.	Fair Your personality is somewhat communicated in your poems.	Good For the most part, your personality is communicated in your poems.	Excellent Your personality shows through all of your poems. The author of your poems would be obvious even if you did not have your name on the top of the paper.
Appropriateness of Language (f.12.9 and j.12.5)	Poor No thought has been given to word choices. This makes your poems difficult to relate to and understand.	Fair Little thought has been given to word choices. Your poems would have been more meaningful with a few word substitutions.	Good Your poems demonstrate good sensory details and appropriate use of language.	Excellent Your poems use precise language and sensory details that have been carefully chosen.
