Spanish Participation Rubric
	Fantastico! 25 pts	Bien Hecho ! 20 pts	Más o menos! 15 pts	No Bueno! ( mal) 10 pts
PREPARATION	Fantastico! Student is ALWAYS (90+ % of the time) prepared for class with completed homework and brings Spanish text, notebook and sharpened pencil.	Bien Hecho ! Student is ALMOST ALWAYS (75-89 % of the time) prepared for class with completed homework and Spanish materials.	Más o menos! Student is OFTEN (51-74+ % of the time) prepared for class but sometimes the homework is incomplete and/or missing Spanish materials.	No Bueno! ( mal) Student is RARELY (30-50 % of the time) prepared for class, homework is often incomplete and/or missing Spanish materials.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT	Fantastico! Student always speaks in Spanish during class and is attentive . Participates/volunteers; wastes no time; hardworking, motivated and self-discipline.	Bien Hecho ! Student OFTEN speaks in Spanish and is often attentive during class lessons. Student at times participates and volunteers. Wastes little time, hardworking	Más o menos! Student SOMETIMES speaks in Spanish and is sometimes attentive during class lessons. Student is reluctant when spoken to by teacher or other students.	No Bueno! ( mal) Student RARELY speaks in Spanish and is rarely attentive during class lessons. Student is negative or non-responsive when spoken to by teacher or other students.
LISTENING SKILLS	Fantastico! Student listens when others talk, both in groups and in class. Student INCORPORATES AND BUILDS OFF of the ideas of others, Gives them credit for ideas. Eye contact.	Bien Hecho ! Student LISTENS when others talk, both in groups and in class, learning from others and INCORPORATING their ideas. Eye contact to speaker.	Más o menos! Student SOMETIMES listens when others talk, both in groups and in class, but doesn't show evidence. Head down, no eye contact.	No Bueno! ( mal) Student DOES NOT listen to others talk, either in groups or in class. Student often INTERRUPTS when others speak.
BEHAVIOR	Fantastico! Student is ALWAYS respectful.NEVER is disruptive by interrupting. Refrains from negative or inappropriate comments. Remains seated at all times. Raises hand.	Bien Hecho ! Student is ALMOST ALWAYS respectful to the teacher and others in the class. Student RARELY displays disruptive behavior, or stops after 1 non-verbal warning. Raises hand.	Más o menos! Student SOMETIMES is respectful to the teacher and others in the class. Disruptive at times. Persists beyond 1 warning. Distracts others. Yells out without raising their hand.	No Bueno! ( mal) Student RARELY is respectful to the teacher and others in the class. Student OFTEN displays disruptive behavior. Sent out of the classroom during the 2-week period.
