Student struggled to explain the issue.	Satisfactory Evident main idea with some support and development but somewhat mundane.	Strong Clear and focussed main issue enhanced with details. Student shows understanding in explanation of the issue.	Exemplary Well developed issue enhanced with relevant and engaging detail and facts. Student goes above and beyond to expose the issue to the reader.
Organization/Form	Below Expectations Writing lacks a clear sense of direction. Ideas are strung together with little attention to detail.	Developing Some evidence of a plan, but more of a list of facts with little development.	Satisfactory Organization is appropriate but conventional. There was obvious attempt to develop an essay.	Strong Order and structure moves the reader through the essay.
