The main idea and details will then be put together in a paragraph consisting of the main idea and supporting evidence. The student will include at least two to three supporting details.

The student will write a book report (1 to 2 pages) on the assigned genre for the given month. They will need to include the title, author, setting, their favorite and least favorite parts. They will need to summarize the plot and talk about the main characters, as well as discussing any personal connections they made when reading this book. The report can be handwritten or typed (font- size 12, font -Times New Roman/Comic Sans, font color-black)

Pick an event from the book and create a diorama. A diorama is a miniature scene in a box. With your created diorama, you will write an explanation of the situation and characters involved and why you believe this was an important part of the novel. Please write the explanation using correct conventions (spelling, capitalization, punctuation) and proper grammar.

Students will write a letter to the author of the book the student just completed. Students will share their connections, observations, and questions with the author. The completed letter should be typed neatly on 8 1/2 x 11" paper or written neatly on stationary that you design. Students should write a draft, revise it, then write a final copy of their letter
