Students will be making 15 - 30 minute episode of a cooking/food show that shows knowledge and skill in cooking and understanding of concepts discussed in Chapter 7.

Students practice at home and cook in school their modified recipes.

Modified Recipe Card Project

The students will be graded on 800 word reaction papers written in response to the excursion

Create a menu. You must give your restaurant a name and create the menu. The menu should include at the 6 staple food in all courses and 6 and headings such as Starter, Mains, Deserts, Drinks and Specialty. The menu should be visually pleasing with with easily identifiable headings, prices, and pictures.

You are to create a food magazine spread comparing two dishes from two different cuisines (i.e. Japanese cuisine and Chinese). Research on the two dishes and write the similarity and differences of the two dishes.

Pretend your trailer has been made into an actual movie. Create a POSTER to advertise your "movie". Your poster should be created on Canva.com. You will not print anything out. You will present from the web. Your poster should be easy to read. Be creative, colorful, include a title, pictures, movie title, etc.

Make a 3D scale model of a 'real life' room or building. A 'blueprint' together with a journal with actual photos of the room, scale calculations and plans should be submitted with the project.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan and Gospel Film Videos' The Pilgrim's Progress. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, read the book and viewed the movie.

Research loan calculators, differentiate terms and rates, analyse in budget, determine best option.

Students choose a topic to study/survey then represents it using appropriate tables and charts. Students presents their statistics using infographics.

Pose questions and collect categorical or numerical data by observation or survey. Construct displays, including column graphs, dot plots and tables, appropriate for data type, with the use of digital technologies. Research on Australian Food Industry (meat, sugar, dried fruit, milk, canned/frozen vegetables, biscuit and snack food) discussing the history, development and effects of the industry in 800-1000 words.

Research on Textile Technologies. Complete a scaffold and use it to write the research paper.

Research one diet related condition/disease from the following list: High blood pressure, Anemia, Diabetes, Heart disease, Colon cancer, Osteoporosis, or High cholesterol levels.

Students make a scale model of the solar system and create a movie showing how the shrunken solar system looks like.

Write a news article about a local event for a student newspaper. Write a headline and a by line. Begin with a strong lead. Answer the questions who, what, when, why (or how), and where in your article.
